Communications Center Specialist
FULL TIME & PART TIME POSITIONS
DAY & NIGHT 12-HOUR SHIFT
ROTATING SCHEDULE:
Week One: Monday/Tuesday, Friday/Saturday
Week Two: Sunday, Wednesday/Thursday
EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED
The TECHS, Inc. Transfer service is partnered with the Eastern Kansas Veteran’s Health Administration and are proud and honored to provide interfacility and hospice transfer services to all veterans. The communications center for the TECHS, Inc. Transfer Service is located at our main office in Holton, Kansas.
The TECHS, Inc. Transfer Service also provides transport to several local hospitals in the Northeast Kansas area, and provides mutual aid for other TECHS services and surrounding services and hospitals.
TECHS, Inc. Transfer Service has two ambulances staffed, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with many employees available for additional ambulances at any given time. The TECHS, Inc. Transfer Service also partners with other TECHS services for mutual aid. TECHS provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and emergent/non-emergent transfers for patients who are sick, injured, or with behavioral health needs.
TECHS, Inc. is seeking a Communications Center Specialist (CCS). The CCS provides high quality professional support to TECHS staff and our external customers in a manner which meets or exceeds defined objectives. The CCS:
- Alerts and dispatches the various ambulances to requests for service.
- Receives and transmits emergency and urgent information via radio, computer, and telephone to pre-hospital and in-house personnel.
- Serves as a liaison for TECHS EMS with hospital and medical care providers.
- This position will work in a team environment to maximize individual and team performance.
What will you be doing?
- Directs incoming inter-hospital transport EMS calls received to appropriate resources.
- Obtains and accurately documents clinical information from referring physicians, hospitals, special care facilities, EMS agencies and communicates this to appropriate emergency services personnel.
- Documents designated communications/events in written and computerized logs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid Kansas driver’s license, and pass background and reference checks. High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher, Emergency Medical Technician (Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic), or at least three years experience working in an emergency communications center preferred. Basic level of knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and/or pre-hospital procedures.

Osage County Emergency Medical Services

Osage County EMS (OCEMS) is accepting applications for Full time and Part time EMT, AEMT, and Paramedics. We offer progressive protocols, Flexible 24 hours shifts and starting January 1st we will also be offering 12 hour shifts.
