Our Certification Programs
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Program Length: Approx.
- 5 months
- Key Skills: Complex immobilization, patient restraint, administering medications, basic airway procedures.
- Continuing Education: 28 hours every two years.
- Certification Note: Replaced the “EMT-Basic” certification in Kansas as part of the 2011 criteria update.
Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT)
- Program Length: Approx. 5 months
- Key Skills: Advanced airway management, intravenous fluid therapy, cardiac medications, and other advanced techniques.
- Continuing Education: 44 hours every two years.
- Certification Note: Replaced the “EMT-I” certification in Kansas as part of the 2011 criteria update.
Paramedic (EMT-P)
- Program Length: Approx. 18 months (including 325 clinical hours and 525 field internship hours)
- Key Skills: Advanced patient assessment, trauma management, pharmacology, cardiology, pediatric advanced life support (PALS), and advanced trauma management.
- Continuing Education: 60 hours every two years.
- Certification Note: Replaced the “MICT” (Mobile Intensive Care Technician) certification in Kansas as part of the 2011 criteria update.
